Weekend of Mothers

The whole weekend was a celebration!
We celebrated new mothers, mother in-laws, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and great great grandmothers!
On top of that, we also celebrated the health of my friends' father.
Earlier this year he was rushed the hospital after suffering a brain aneurism and thank God, he is doing well and has almost fully recovered from the incident.  It was amazing to see him up and walking and hanging out with friends on Saturday.  I particularly enjoyed hearing him play music; one of his favorite things to do.  How great our God is!

Saturday was extra special because I got so see my sweet nephew, Camdon.  His mom and dad are such wonderful friends to my hubs and me.  We miss them dearly because they live in Jacksonville, NC, but luckily, we still get to see them quite often.
Just look at him!  You can't help, but want to eat him up.

Saturday was a nice day for me because my hubby went golfing all day which left me home alone to clean and sew and veg out.
I love days like these.

So I took the opportunity to check on our veggies...
Football keeps a close eye on them as well.  Lucky for us, he hasn't figured out how to dig them up yet!

I made Sarah (Camdon's momma) her "First Mother's Day" gift:
AND I created a maxi skirt using a tutorial I had found from Merrick's Art and Elle Apparel.  I have fallen in LOVE with this maxi skirt and can't wait to get my hands on more jersey knit fabric so that I can make more.

The ruffles on the bottom are to die for.  Literally, I could die.  I know - they're ruffles, but they're so stinkin' cute!  They add so much to the skirt!  As I type, I'm online trying to find fabric for cheap so I can do this x25 and just live in them.
