For almost a year now I have done nothing to our home in fear that we would invest money in decorating and then move within a few months. I haven't painted the bathroom or our bedroom like I wanted to. I haven't made curtains like I wanted to. We haven't put in fencing for our dogs to have space to play. Literally, we've just settled.
Now that the house is off the market, I feel comfortable making small improvements to our home without making a huge investment. I know that in the near/far future we will no longer live here, but in the mean time, I can make small changes to make it our home.
Here are some things I'm loving (particularly because its fall and I love fall decor!)

I've been wanting to paint our bedroom grey for some time now and I think I'm going to go for it when I am on vacation in November for Thanksgiving. I put it off not wanting to invest the time (more than the money), but now there is no reason not to make our space our space.
Any suggestions on where to put your flat screen tv when it currently resides within the vacant space above your mantle?
I've been seriously contemplating making our accent wall (that goes from living room to dining room) a chevron wall. My concern: I will be gun-ho at first and quickly lose interest in the project. Have any of you done this before?
Last, but not least, I want to add more pictures to our collage in the living room. I see a trip to Ikea in my future.

I've been shying away from doing anything to our home in anticipation of a possible move, but I like that you're going ahead and making your space what you want it to be anyway – so important to love the space around you! I've never done an accent wall but I dig the chevron idea.
