That three day weekend was such a blessing for me. You too?
It doesn't seem like that one day should make such a difference, but it really does! I mean, if every weekend were a three day weekend, I would be a better employee, blogger, wife, you name it!
That extra day is enough to give us a chance to slow down and embrace the beauty that is around us; enjoy a cup of coffee, the falling leaves, and the final days of cool weather before cold settles in.
As I get older, I find myself more and more content being home. Do you feel that way?
I just don't need to be out to enjoy myself. A glass of red wine, a cozy fire, and a Hallmark Christmas movie get me pretty excited these days. Is that old age? Maturity? Happiness?
Let's go with happiness for 500.
I suppose this is just another one of those changes that we go through or the fact that we married our best friend. Either way, I'm pretty content with that extra day.

I could't agree more! Extra days off make life seem a little easier to handle! I would have to also agree with the happiness & maturity. The world can be so busy and demanding sometimes. We need to learn to slow down & give ourselves a break! It is good to hear I am not the only one trying to accomplish that!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about as you get older and being content at home. I love being at home with my family. Loving your boots and photos :) Heather
ReplyDeleteThese are such adorable photos – you two are so cute! Totally agree with you on the extra day off – relaxing at home is my perfect idea of an extra day.

I feel exactly the same way about three day weekends. I used Saturday and Sunday to be productive and then lazed around on Monday, mostly just watching TV and knitting. It was glorious.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a sign of maturity. Mature happiness?
I find myself being more at peace at home these days myself. Like you said a nice glass of wine, a good movie, and my two fave guys and I am good to go!
ReplyDeleteamen! i love this post. even though i had to work monday - i know what you mean - extra time gives us that moment of breath. to just.... be. love these pics!!
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures!!! Unfortunately I did not have a 3 day weekend :( sadness. I definitely agree that I'm more content being at home.
ReplyDeleteSo the Saturday after Thanksgiving I'm going to a NC State football game. Is there another day that would work for us to get together?
xo,
Angela
I'm so jealous - I had to work on Monday! haha. I'm the same way about being ok with staying at home more. It makes me feel twice my age, but I really look forward to those low key nights at home with my husband!
