#Clubsexy Staycation

In light of trying to be less selfish and trying to do more for my hubby, I was enlightened by Kaitlyn's post about her #clubsexy night she created for her husband.  Sarah Horn says we should do special things like this to be more like Cinderella a Proverbs 31 wife.

By the way, I'm starting to think Cinderella knew what she was doing...I mean she ended up with the prince.  Clearly, all that hard work paid off.  Perhaps it will for us...

So, Saturday while hubby was golfing, I set up our own little Staycation.  We have been very busy lately and he got home late from work every single night this week.  I thought we could both use a relaxing night in.  Our night didn't consist of a dance club like Kaitlyn's did, but it was full of our favorite things to do together.

We love fondue - let me rephrase that...we love chocolate and cheese fondue.  Every time we've gone to The Melting Pot we've felt its slightly overrated.  #sorrynotsorry I broke out my fondue pot and prepared fruit, angel food cake, pretzels, and marshmallows to go with it.  You could definitely do this in a crockpot if you don't have a fondue pot.  (I used my little one for the cheese.)

My husband's favorite game is Monopoly so I took one for the team (I don't hate it, but I never win) and got it out so that we could play a friendly game.  At one point he said, "This is turning into war."  It was intense.  Of course he won.  He always does and no, I don't let him.  I don't stand a chance.

Fondue Recipe
1 bag milk chocolate chips
10 marshmallows
1/4 c milk
1/4 c whipping cream
Nutella to taste

Put the chips and milk in on warm (don't let it get too hot - it will burn).
Add marshmallows and let melt.  Once melted, add whipping cream and Nutella to taste.
*Of course, I added Nutella because I'm addicted, but you don't have to*

She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.
She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.

She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.
Proverbs 31:22-27

Oh boy, here I've been feeling so confident about this whole thing and then I see these next few verses and I'm hit with all that I struggle with.  I've got the whole making bedspreads, dressing in fine linen, and making garments to sell thing down.  However, I don't always let my husband see me that way.  I don't know about you, but often as soon as I get home, I am in my sweats, Uggs, jewelry off, hair up, grunge mode.  My hubby comes home to that every night.  Don't get me wrong, he has never complained, but it probably wouldn't hurt for me to stay in my nicer clothes a little longer and let him actually see me made up.

The last few verses are what really get me.  Strength, dignity, laughs without fear, wise words, kindness, curing laziness.  Yeah...I don't know about all that.  I mean, I'm trying, but I'm failing on the reg.  I lift heavy weights, but strength isn't really my strong point.  Haha.  I can't say I've ever laughed without fear of the future.  I'm a worry wart.  Recently I saw an interview with 50 Cent (no, that's not a typo) and he was telling Oprah, "You either worry or pray.  Don't do both.  If you do both, what does that say about your God?"  Wow - who woulda thunk I would be learning that from 50 Cent?!

I also have to admit that all last week our house didn't get swept or mopped because it rained literally every single day and I just didn't see the point since our pups were tracking in mud each time they went out.  I'd say that's definitely laziness.

So, I've got lots to work on this week!  Hope you ladies are up for the challenge!  Remember to comment sharing what you think about the book so far and share any interest you may have in doing the P31Challenge as a link-up.
