Something Old & Something New

Sweater: Gap (similar), Top: American Eagle (similar, love this one) ,
Skirt: Thrift (similar), Boots: Gap (similar), Jewelry: Lila's Trunk

Do you ever think about the things you hold onto?  The things that you just are never ready to let go of?  Sometimes I look through my closet or cupboards trying to figure out what to purge and what to save and there are some things I just can't let go of!

It's the craziest stuff, too.  Like the skirt I wore to my college graduation.  Or the Popples glasses I got at Goodwill and used in my first apartment.  The indoor soccer shoes I got in 5th grade (that still fit) even though I haven't played indoor in years.

Then there is other stuff that is so dispensable to me.  Like a sweater I never even tried on after receiving it as a gift. (Thank God I didn't get rid of that one...2 years later Plato's Closet didn't take it and I am very thankful for that.)  I don't know exactly what warrants an item being "trash" or "keeper."

This outfit is the perfect mixture of old and new.  I think sometimes old things gain new life from the breath of new.  Is that too deep for humpday?

Since it's Random Wednesday, I thought I would share with you what I got in my January CARA box.  This month's CARA box was supposed to inspire and prepare us to maintain our goals/resolutions.  Ironically, I had Taber and we had very similar goals in that we both love running.    Check out her blog if you want to see what I got her!  Sweet Jess sent me my thoughtful package.

She filled my box with a nice, new water bottle to rehydrate.  She put almonds inside to refuel.  She put energy drink in to reenergize, candles to relax, and some note pads for blogging purposes!

I love everything, Jess!  Thank you so so much!
