What's New...

Last Friday I shared with you the plan of action Jen of Fit for Expecting helped me to come up with so that I will meet my goals she helped me to identify.  Just to recap, her advice was

  1. Keep a food journal
  2. Incorporate veggies in every meal
  3. Hydrate
  4. Find an accountability partner
I thought I would quickly recap what's new in my life after incorporating these goals.
  1. The food journal is eh right now.  One good thing about the concept of a food journal is I am considering everything I eat because I'm justifying whether or not I want to write it down.
  2. Veggies are a no brainer for me.  This is something I was doing before, but now I'm giving myself a much larger portion of veggies than anything else.  We juice every morning so I've been mixing some veggies in with that and I'm still eating a salad for at least 1 meal a day.
  3. I only drink water.  (and coffee) I keep my water bottle with me at work and my goal is to drink 2 (40 oz) per day while there.
  4. Currently, Fitness Friday is my accountability partner.  If you follow me on instagram or twitter, you know that I'm posting all sorts of stuff on there as well because I find that the more I talk about doing something, the higher the chances are I'm going to do it.  And this time, I'm going to do it and I'm going to stick to it.
I'm excited that my motivation is so high.  It's amazing how much better I feel just after 3 weeks of doing this.  I don't want to call it a program because it's a lifestyle.  Keep that in mind as you are setting your own goals.  Don't put restrictions or expectations on yourself that can not be attained for the long term.  I encourage you to try new exercises and new recipes.

As for my #whatsonyoursalads this week, this is what I had...
Monday & Tuesday
This one is becoming a favorite, but I added to it this time: romaine, kale, cucumbers, carrots, onions, hickory smoked tuna, crispy onions, and Goddess dressing.  P.S. Found Goddess dressing at Trader Joe's this past weekend if you haven't been able to find it!  So yum.

Wednesday

I was a little skeptical about the Lean Cuisine salad additions, but WOW what a surprise!  I loved it.  The box comes with the chicken, black beans, and corn in a bag to steam in the microwave.  It also comes with tortilla strips and dressing to top the salad.  You just bring your own greens/veggies and put it on top after heating!

  1. I just started following you on IG.

An accountability partner is so important. Every day my aunt and I email each other at the end of the day with what we ate and what our exercise was. We live three hours apart but are still doing it together.

Then one of my BFFs is my gym partner, and we push each other to get there and not slack off.

  2. I've never seen those Lean Cuisine salad toppers before, but they look pretty good. I'll have to try them out soon :)

  4. It's ironic, but being a vegetarian, I still need to figure out how to incorporate more veggies in my diet. I tend to be very veggie heavy at dinner. I should spread them out more during the day.

  6. Love salad as a meal every day. I have been doing that for the past couple of months, and feel so much better! I try to make sure I have some good filling things in my salad though too, like sunflower seeds and avocado. Thanks for linking up at what i am eating!
