Something I would have never bought myself...

But I'm so glad I won!
Blazer: thrifted, Scarf: Little Birdies Nest, Tee: Liz Lange, Jeans: Liz Lange (thrifted), Booties: UrbanOg (love these)
Last week when I attended the NC Blogger Buzz I had gone back and forth about whether or not to attend.  It was a dark, rainy, windy, miserable day and I was nervous about driving an hour in that weather by myself.  I tend to get a little anxious when there is a lot of water on the roads...especially now that I am driving for 2.

On the way there, I turned around at one point (after seeing a car flipped over several times) and called my husband in tears.  Clearly I was conflicted...

I really wanted to go
But I would have never put my son in the back in his carseat...

So how could I rationalize driving with him up front with me in the terrible weather?

In a nutshell, the devil had all sorts of things going through my mind: what if we went in the ditch, what if the air bag went off, what if something happened to me or him?  Crazy.  The kind of stuff that holds you back from your goals, dreams, and desires.

Husband talked my pregnant hormones down and I got myself turned back around and headed to Raleigh.  I'm so glad I did.  The weather cleared up within a few miles and I drove home after the event in absolutely no rain at all.  Not to mention, I won this amazing scarf!

It is something I never would have thought to buy myself with the cameras all over it.  Not because I don't like it either.  Mainly because I would think I'm not hip enough to pull it off.  But, I couldn't wait to call my husband and describe it to him (doing it no justice) on my way home from the event.

I. love. it. and can't wait to style it all different ways!  I already have some post-baby ideas.

  3. The only time I experience anxiety is during rainy weather on the highway! I can't imagine how I'll handle it when pregnant, but good for you. Love that scarf!
