Bathing Suit After Baby

I'm gearing up to go to the beach in May with my little family.
I love the beach: the sand, the water, the sun, all of it.

And with the sand, water, and sun comes the need for a bathing suit.  Typically I would hit up VS and order a few tops and bottoms to mix and match for the trip, but I've decided I'm not going to do that to myself.  I'm not going to get another bikini this time.

I'm not going to expect myself to be bikini ready four months post-partum.  I just won't do it.

Some women may be ready to strut their stuff in a bikini in that amount of time.  Some women may never be ready to put one on again.  I, for one, am not going to set myself up for disappointment.  I just don't think it's fair to judge my body right now.  So I'm not.  I won't judge.

Truth: There are a lot of cute suits out there that aren't bikinis.

I love all of these options, particularly the ones that are 2 pieces.

I think it's important, as women, to make sure that we feel confident particularly when we are exposing ourselves in bathing suits.  I'm not saying I will never wear a bikini again, but I'm not going to pressure myself to wear one right now.

I'm going to embrace my body, the beautiful boy it helped to create, and enjoy my time on the beach with my little family worry free.

Which suit is your favorite?

  1. Love these options! Especially the purple! I think that would be so cute on you!

  2. I was driving at lunch today and was just thinking how I won't be ready for bikini season, at first I got a little sad and depressed. I think women place so much pressure on themselves to 'snap back' to what their body was before baby. I'm so glad you posted this today. I think I am going to splurge on a really nice 1 piece and take my time getting back to where I need to be. I want to do it in the healthiest and safest way possible, no crash diets just to fit into a bathing suit!

I really love the orange one you posted, the ruching will be good to hide my tummy pudge!

  3. These are so cute. I'm embarrassed to say that I wore these before I was pregnant. I just love this style!

  4. I love the idea of wearing a one piece!!!! The orange one is so cute!

  5. I love the black jcp one. But I always gravitate towards black. I've been wanting a high waisted black bikini so bad. The one I was eyeing before getting pregnant with Caleb is from urban outfitters.

Feel free to leave me some love. It makes my heart smile.
