Impromptu Beach Weekend
Last week my cousins contacted me saying they were in the area. By the area, they meant the beach. Which really is the area when they are driving from upstate New York.
We had a pretty full weekend planned with CT and I running a 5k Saturday morning and tickets to a play on Sunday afternoon. It didn't take much persuasion by my husband to get me to skip my run, drop the dogs at the in-laws and head to the coast Friday after work.
It was honestly the perfect weekend. The weather was warm and breezy with no humidity. The resort had so many pools and hot tubs (and a lazy river) that there no worries of being crowded. And, I got to see some of my family that I don't get to see often enough.
Carson's first trip to the beach was awesome. Although he didn't get his feet in the ocean (it's still pretty chilly), he loved the pool and floated around in his little inflatable for a while before deciding he was ready to get out.
I got to catch up and hang out with family and Justin got up early Saturday morning and headed to the golf course. We were all back together by lunch time and lounged around the pool. Seriously, it couldn't have been much better. Although I would have loved to throw some more family into the mix.
This little cutie was the best traveler. He slept the majority of the trip to and from, napped in the shade, and had everyone smiling at his little beach bum attire.
A little spontaneity does the heart good.
