I was reading this article from RedBook the other evening and it made my commitment to my healthy lifestyle and the #1800 minute challenge even stronger. If you have the time, read it. Even if you aren't a mom or currently pregnant. Every woman should read this article.
It puts our tendency to prioritize everyone and everything over ourselves into perspective. So many women struggle to take care of themselves because there are sooo many other things to be done.
I struggle with "me time" regularly. Years ago I would have called myself an extrovert and was far from a homebody. I loved doing whatever I wanted to do. Since settling down and getting married I've become much more introverted and love to be home. I feel as though my time is precious and I should share it with the people that truly deserve it in the places I want to spend it. I'm still really friendly and love meeting new people and discovering new places, but I am really comfortable and happy with what I've been given, too.
I spend the majority of my free time doing things for other people. I am just about as unselfish as I can be. Reading this article, I realized that it's okay, maybe even healthy, to be a little selfish.
All things in moderation, right?
