As I look back over the picture that I took of CT over the weekend, I realize that some of my favorites would have probably been a professional photographers outtakes.
My life is full of "outtakes" and to be honest, I love it. I love the surprise slobbery kisses, the screeches, and the mouth covered in hummus and crackers.
I wish I would have snapped a picture of him upside down balancing on his head after he successfully climbed out of his bouncy horse Saturday afternoon. And I hope I never forget watching him strain up on tip toe to grab the Chinese food off the TV tray my husband was eating from.
One of my favorite things about motherhood is that it is messy. Not just in the literal sense. Although more days than not I have to treat my clothes after a piece of food comes flying out of his mouth and lands on me mid-laugh or he snuggles into my shoulder after eating carrots and applesauce.
It's disheveled and lovely and messy and amazing all at once.
